This was a basic but very clean and quiet hotel in a lovely residential area in Kirribilli. The room was very pleasant with a comfortable bed. It was close to bars, restaurants and the Milsons Point train station. There was a lovely little courtyard with a view over Neutral Bay. The service was minimal, but friendly. Awesome walk over the Sydney Harbour bridge to the Rocks. Thanks for the suggestion, Gebby (hotel manager). I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone who wanted a reasonably priced room near the Sydney CBD.

While we are fairly good at packing light clothing wise, the cameras, lenses, gadgets/cables, selfie stick (!) and extensive medical kit have taken up valuable backpack space! I guess that means we may have limited fashion options, yet are covered for all photography occasions!

A couple of weeks back at home seemed like a long time to get the “last minute” packing done. In that time we managed to create ...

So that used up some time! We were getting cold by now because it was so windy. We had not bought anything with us because we were not expecting to find somewhere to stay. Nanny even had time to go back to the apartment to collect everything we needed. She even managed to smuggle in some ...

So, despite being in Sydney for the last six weeks, and people back at home having this general idea of me supposedly spending my time on beaches, and going out all the time being a backpacker. The reality sadly, is that I’ve been working just like I did back ...

... up for a change, we started our trek at 5pm to Rose Bay to meet Poppy who had to pick Pia up from her play school party. I thought I'd heard the distant rumblings when on the balcony and it quickly became evident that a storm had been heading our way with the loud claps and lightning strikes to accompany the rain which fell around us. Thanking our lucky stars we had made the most of the best of the day, and not letting the warm rain dampen our spirits ...

... to Darling Harbour for some dinner.

Wednesday we went to Taronga Zoo where we saw some red tree kangaroos, koalas, kangaroos and wombats. :)
After an exhausting morning walking around we went back home and drove past Balmoral Beach and got home just before a thunderstorm hit which went on the whole afternoon. I chose to stay put and did some necessary washing while it was a bit nasty outside.
