When we arrived at our hotel, we were gob smacked. What a magnificent historic hotel and all for $80 per night??? Even the Sheraton in Dallas could not measure up to it.

This absolutely beautiful historic hotel was in the Zona Rosa (Pink Zone) area, and how appropriate. Patrick commented that there seemed to be quite a few gays around! We learnt later that Zona Rosa was popular for its gay community, ...

5. Pushing myself a little too far

... more cash than I had expected to. That generous tip didn’t seem like such a great idea right now, and maybe I should have returned to the room for my Visa instead of paying cash for the sunscreen. I needed about $1,000 to pay for my food at lodging at the turtle camp, plus I needed taxi fare to and from the bus station. That didn’t leave me much cushion.

There was a peal of thunder outside. It took me a long time to fall asleep.
