Travel Blogs from Rome
Today we spent the entire day at the Vatican Museums. What an amazing place. So much art, antiquities, and history. We took our time and soaked it all in. At the end of the day we were quite tired, but found a small restaurant near our hotel tucked away in a residential neighborhood. Good food and fun family atmosphere.
Tomorrow we plan to see the ancient ruins of Rome.
Today, we planned to see the ruins of ancient Rome and tour the catacombs. We ended up not having time to make it to the catacombs, but we did see the Colloseum, the Palantino, the Forum, The Pantheon, Navona Piazza, lovely quaint neighborhoods.

It was built in the first century AD when the aqueducts were being built and became part of the city walls, and is the support for two converging aqueducts, the Aqua Claudia, which was built on top of the pre-existing Anio Novus.

we slept in so decided to skip breakfast and go straight to lunch. As it is Sunday here none of the restaurants open till 12 so had a but of a wander around and came upon a lovely church. They had mass going on so decided to go back later. There were people around everywhere as it was such a lovely day. There must have been some sort of election going on ...
... Ghost and Mystery tour. The tour began at 9.15 and we were guided through the back streets of Rome. Among the many disturbing and humorous things we saw and were told was about a woman who made her fortunes by killing other people's husband by using water... Laced with lead and other various toxic metals. I found this quite amusing. We also were told stories of corrupt Popes, Prostitutes, Ghosts, Murderers, Rape and Executions all of which painted a ...
