... amazing. It`s like a scene from Happy Days. Everything is iconic 1950`s from the furniture, decor and staff uniforms. We order sodas and pie. Sheila goes for the Elvis pie which is a huge peanut butter based pie with lots of cream!! Chris has the Pecan pie while Martin and Gill go for the healthier option of Blueberry pies and ice cream. They are all lovely. Before setting off again we take a look at the gift shop which sells all sorts of 1950`s ...

Early the next morning, we headed out for some golfing. This was my first time to play on a course, so I was relieved to see there were only two other people playing. A very nice field, but nowhere as grand as Qualcomm Stadium. When we arrived Xavier's 2nd XV were warming up as they were getting ready to play the local ...

... at Miguel’s Cantina for lunch and the food was delicious if a bit pricey. The Ultimate Margarita came in a shaker on the rocks and was enough to refill your glass a couple of times. Rick had the Pollo Mole Poblano and Dan had a combo that included a chile relleno he said was the best he has ever had. We strolled the area for a couple of hours before heading back to Mission Bay.

The bay has been covered in heavy fog for the past couple of mornings but it burns ...

... to San Diego' sign to greet us, which was a bit of a downer. With the path coming to an end, we were now faced with the spaghetti of the city's road network with more fly-overs than a Windsor family celebration. Navigation was difficult and at times counter-intuitive, and consultations with the locals took us even more off course. The mileage for the day was starting to rack up and the ride was starting to feel like a caricature of the ...
