We drove through Mt Hotham on our way to Dinner Plain. Dinner Plain is the main accommodation area of the mountain. Our first stop was The Dog Sled Tour. It was sooooooo much fun, there was also a puppy huskie called shadow he was really cute. Renee went first, than kath & lastly me. Woke on our final day to the sound of rain drops on the roof. A good time to set off. Drove in absolutely pouring rain (the first of the trip since we left Melbourne) to visit our friends in Cootamunda, Tony & Lorraine Naughton, ex-neighbours from Mt Keira.

... up to The Horn which is a rocky peak (standing at 1723m - 500m shorter than Mt Kosciuszko) that offered 360 degree views of the Australian Alps and after a quick twelve minute walk it was breathtaking. Never before have we stood alone and witnessed a more spectacular view. If you are ever in Victoria you must visit Mt Buffalo and visit The Horn. ... ume die Höhe wohl nicht sonderlich, so dass man in diesen Höhen, d.h. oberhalb der Schneegrenze (ja man höre und staune, es schneit sogar hier in Australien!!!) dann eher sehr dünne und nicht so dicht bewachsene Arten findet. Aber besonders erschreckend fand ich aber die grosse Anzahl an toten Bäumen dort. Teilweise hat man wirklich hunderte Meter voll mit toten Eukalyptusbäumen, d.h. es stehen nur mehr die Baumstämme mit Ästen da und weit und breit kein Blatt in Sicht ...

... vormittag mit vielen dicken Anziehsachen (in meinem Kopf ist es ja schliesslich Wint** und wir fahren in die B**ge) im Auto nach Bright gefahren. During our break back in Austalia we managed to spend a weekend with our girls in Bright, staying at Kay and Bruce Reid's house in the Buckland Valley. We were lucky with the weather as it was cold, but sunny. It was great to catch up with Kay and Bruce and find out what they have been up to lately.

Everyone was heading to the Orchards, so joined them and had an awesome time. Sun was shining, and we got to see a lot of that side of the resort.
