Not wanting to change our plans to go to Turkey we managed to find some cheap direct flights direct into Istanbul for the following night so we booked these and then grabbed our bags and headed back to Sarah's boyfriends place to crash for the night before heading back to the airport the next night.

... check-in. So we queued for 20 min at the passport controle, queued for 40 min to take our luggage (all 3 heavy pieces) to customs and queued for 15 min to get the biohazard dog to smell our luggage. We thought we'd be bored with a 3 1/2 hour transfer!
At least the kids were busy laughing and entertaining the entire airport audience, which did loosen up the waiting.
But that wasn't the worst part!
