    ... substantial but actually turns out to be a tiny village pub. Conversation stops dead as we walk in and I can't help but be reminded of the opening scenes of "An American Werewolf in London".     ... with reception. Restaurant closed though so just a 'cold plate' for us. Not my type of food - luckily I have a cookie left! Then up to the room.     On our way to Sidmouth we stopped Restormel Castle. We are definitely getting our monies worth from our English Heritage pass. With this pass (that we bought in Dover in June) you get free admission to all English Heritage sites and a discount (half price) in most other sites throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
