Konglor Village
... running this year thanks, I suspect, to the cave's new mention in the Lonely Planet. There are so few tourists in Konglor that by the end of the day we all knew each other by name and gathered in the main restaurant in the evening for Beerlao and travel stories, until it became apparent that the restaurant area was also used by the owners as a bedroom and we had to leave so they could put their children to bed.

'Backpacker' to 'Flashpacker'
... a 9 hour wait, then another 12 hour overnighter. Being informed that all passengers get issued a sick bag was the tipping point to desert being a ‘Backpacker’ and jump ship to being a ‘Flashpacker’. 2 hours later and a 30 minute flight, we landed in Luang Probang where we then reverted to back to ‘Backpackers’ in our £8 guest house. ...

After dinner we headed to a sports bar to watch some football and play pool, not that there was much else to do and by 10:45 they had switched off the TV and everyone had to leave due to the curfew much to my announce. With our time drawing to an end Vientiane was nice enough city to spend a day in and has some nice French buildings but you really wouldnt want much longer than that as there is not that much to do. ...

Northern Laos - A Laid-back Place
... top and could see the edge of the falls – very neat. After the short trek, we took a shot at being Tarzan, swinging a few times from a tree into the cool waters where wild ‘spa fish’ soon attacked your feet and nibbled off your dead skin. Good day out, especially when it was scorching hot out!
