On the ship until 2.30 when we left by tender for the short service to Mykonos, one of Greece's most popular tourist islands. Here we wandered for an hour with Cindy & Mike before grabbing a well deserved beer in a cafe overlooking the famous windmills, formerly used to grind the island’s grain. The houses are all white washed pretty regularly & the streets, ...

The guide did say we would be given free time but as usual they talk so much the time you get is minimal.

... Venice". We saw the famous white Church and the famous windmills. Then we were on our own to explore by ourselves before heading back to the boat in time to board. We looked at some of the souvenirs available and because it was still very hot, had to have our daily refreshment! Mykonos was very different to what I expected. The brochures and postcards definitely don't show the complete picture - I was so glad we hadn't done a cruise of only the Greek ...

          Delos Island and Wind

A travel blog entry by ahartry on Oct 13, 2013

It was very, very windy today – mistral winds, cool and from the north. We spent much of the day trying to catch the ferry to Delos. It wasn't complicated, but we weren’t sure how large the ferry would be, and there were a lot of people who wanted to go. We didn’t know if we could all fit on, so we didn’t want to go too far from the loading place while waiting for the ferry, especially since we just bought tickets – not tickets for a particular ferry.
