The view from the ship of traditional white houses with blue trim was unmistakeable Greek! We took a water taxi from the ship to Mykonos to walk around town and enjoy the picture-postcard views. The weather was slightly warmer than yesterday and we enjoyed a rain-free day. ... to see so much rubbish, broken glass, plastic bottles and strong smell of urine....we were told by a shop owner that there had been a ship load of young party goers arrive Thursday morning and leave Friday morning at 5am...hence the state of the town unfortunately. Mykonos is also known for the "Shirley Valentine" movie. Narrow winding streets, painted with white outlines makes it look very effective...especially with the white buildings and coloured trims and in places ...
