Last week when we went to pick MDSIL (My Dear Sister In Law) from the bus station the Sat Nav got me a bit flustered and I ended up driving with the trams then down a bus only lane. Cousin Louise said I'd get a ticket and I did. Didn't get one when I drove down a bus only lane in Ireland. ...

The city is full of narrow, cobble-stoned streets, old buildings and Roman remains. ... We flew kites and frisbees and some intrepid souls even went for a paddle in the icy sea! Then our luck ran out as we drove 10 miles south to Skegness to go on the fun fair, which took one and a half hours in traffic jams. After 3 trips on white knuckle rides, fish and chips and doughnuts, we were glad to leave the heaving masses of holidaymakers. A pub quiz awaits this ...

When we arrived in the UK we had two bags with about 20kg in each. We now have 6 bags and too much stuff to bring back. We spent today trying to get everything into 4 bags and each bag under 23kg. Not easy. Again I emphasise to MDW "No More Purchases" but am told still got to go to Amsterdam, Bruges and Rome. So I start looking for ways to ship excess luggage to Australia.
