    We arrived at the quaint Schoolhouse Canyon campground after a short two hour drive. The campground has been family operated since the 1960s.     The Applewood Inn was in the middle of no where in the town of Guerneville. I would have never discovered this place, but luckily TravelZoo had an offer for a 3 course meal, with wine, for $79. It wasn't until after I purchased the deal that I discovered it was a "Michelin" rated restaurant. Wow!

    ... the outdoor shower (aka the poor-man's jacuzzi). There've also been projects to do, including a refurb of the owl- house. A little way North one gets to the outskirts of Giant Redwood land and only a little way inland is wine country. While less rural than Tomales, there's still a gentle feel about all these places and they're full of local colour.....and a dress code that hasn't changed since the Summer of Love.
