How the Epic Train Trip came to be.

... to explore. Many people I have never met have written of their experiences and have been a stepping stone in my journey.

I think I have spent as much time planning this trip as I will on the trip itself.

I am so excited to start this trip and look forward to savouring every moment. I know many places I will only get a taste of, but one thing I will be able to say is that I travelled across two continents by train,Europe and Asia (or Euroasia)

... Doug had a mixed grill and I had poached salmon with salad. When Doug’s mixed grill arrived, our eyes nearly popped out of our heads - I’ve never seen a mixed grill served like that before. No desserts for us - we were too full.

Back to the motel where we had an early night and slept in one of the most comfortable beds EVER – great pillows and better still - a pitch black room - heaven !! Alarm set .. then ...

... Train that took us right into the CBD to Wynyard Station ($17.20 ea). It was only a 70m walk to the Travelodge Hotel and by 4.15pm we were settled in our room putting our feet up. We discovered the Airport Shuttle is only $15 ea door to door so will do that going back to the airport…..

We didn’t feel like going out to find somewhere for dinner so had it at the hotel and headed for bed after sorting out our bags ready for the next day.

... money on accommodation and taxi fare. When we dropped the rented car off it was few minutes past midnight and after a short walk we were again at the loud arrival hall that was the only place open non stop. we brushed our teeth and tried to catch some shut eye that again proved difficult due to very loud music, tv and constant announcements.
