Malaga

After days at sea we had a short stop in Malaga before docking the next day back in Savona. I have decided that I am not crazy about the days at sea. Even though I really enjoyed all the ports, I don't think I would do anther big curise. The fact that there were only small number of people who spoke enlgish on the ship was interesting. So wanted to speak another language .. any lanaugage. Even when I told the Germans I did nto speak Germann they kept talking!

Accion de Gracias

... last time I ate that good. I had so much I thought I was going to get sick. It was a real good night. Even though we are so far from home and the traditional Thanksgiving (which is my favorite holiday...food and it's not commercialized), it felt a little bit like home. We laughed a lot. At the end I told the woman who I assume owns the restaurant that it was very good and I could tell she appreciated hearing that. She also told me ...

... in English. She was very nice. I really enjoyed this bar, it was so refreshing to hear Spanish songs for a change. The night ended on a down note though…Juan’s bike got stolen. : ( It’s ironic because I had a conversation earlier about if I should get a bike and my friend from the intercabio that is from Malaga told me no, it would get stolen. It sucks that Juan’s bike got stolen. All in all tonight was a good night.

    Hung over again

... ill but it was cheap and filled us up.

We went to a place called Montys bar where they had a live act on we thought it was going to be really cheesy but it turned out to be ok. Steve the man who was playing was really good and played lots of old classics man rock songs so Ian liked it and I enjoyed it to. We then stagered back to our room around midnight a little drunk again. Looks like we are fitting right in with this holiday.

    Too Funny

... and laughing at the funnyness of where we are.

As we walked past the bars imagine how funny it was to see loads of english couples a little older all sat in a bar watching only fools and horses. I always thought people where kidding when they said they came on holiday like this but is so true. Each to there own is all I can say. Ian is struggling to adjust and keeps saying he wants some spanish food. Lol.

... and walked back out. We have no idea what they are or what the purpose was and that was pretty much how the whole cultural tour went. After an excruciating 4 hours, we finally got to back to the bus and headed to lunch.   We stopped at a roadside food area for lunch that looked like a US pit stop. When we walked in, there was a food area and a huge dinning area ...

    Granada - nearly naked

So after a wonderful time in Madrid with our good friends Margarita and Alfonso, Tania and I have made it to Granada. Not too much to report yet, though must say I do like the overall feel of this city. Lots of pedestrian walkways through narrow roads, with very cool and eclectic (WARNING: pretentious word) shops. What I DON´T like about the city is the way it seems to enhance Canadian tourists´ propensity for getting lost down ...

    The Amazing La Alhambra!!

Thursday 17th June 2004 We arrived in Granada...after a 3 hour train journey from Ronda, again a beautiful journey through the Andalucian country side (more sunflowers, olive groves and mountain side villages!) We had no accommodation reserved (getting braver as time goes on) so off we went to find a bed for the night...this took longer than expected 1. because we didn't know where to look 2. we cant read maps 3. we followed the ...
