Venice is a city to come back to. I would stay on one of the islands next time and travel by the ferries to wherever needed. The narrow streets echo any sound on the street or from any apartments with open windows. Someone partied until 4.30 this morning, didn't invite us nor let us get a lot of sleep. One last ferry ride along the Grand Canal has us at the Train terminal and on the way to Milan. We farewell Venice and Fagin's gang noir who ...

Karliana and I walked around for a bit, wasting time before our hostel check in. ...

... she got to go into stores and a even a nice restaurant/wine bar with us for dinner.

She made several dog friends including another German Shorthair that was even smaller than Shelby with the same coloring. Piper made lots of two-legged friends as well because everyone kept stopping to pet her.

It was a big day, and she slept for most of the train ride home. The best way to see Piper's day is through all the pictures, so ...

... real idea of where we were going. Even our navigation system couldn't be trusted in Venice as it couldn't differentiate between streets and canals. The Casa Pisini Canal Hotel was a small but pleasant and clean. (5 rooms) It had the ambience one would expect. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice - if you could find it! On more than one occasion I wondered if tourists in Venice lose not only their luggage but their whole hotel as ...
