We check out the Venice rain radar site this morning. Prediction of rain in the afternoon, evening so we decide to take advantage of the 24 hour Vaporetto tickets we purchased yesterday morning and take a ride around the Island in the daylight following last night's route so hopefully we will be able to see the sights. A short walk to the nearest water station and off we go. Michael is happy taking photos along the way. Venice is quite ...

... scenery and relaxing for a while. I need to gather strength as the virus has not been very pleasant.By the way, we should mention that here a small bottle of water costs 1.5 euro in any of the shops along the tourist route, and to wee it out costs 1.5 euro as well! We probably needed a walk as we had been sitting on the bus and train for a many hours today. Fell into bed ...

Hop on bus and head to airport, another €24, get to airport can't check in. Paul & I have a little 'set to' (who cares no one knows us), then drag our bags downstairs across the road through another terminal to 'baggage hold', ...

... then de-magnetised. Sigh! We needed two new ones! One of the spots we parked ourselves was on a couple of deck chairs next to an ugly looking port but as the chairs were in the shade we had no choice. However it turned into a very interesting port indeed with massive cargo ferries loading semi trailers and cars towing a fantastic array of campers and caravans. It was a shame we didn't know where the cargo carrier was heading but possibly they were holiday makers returning home ...
