      ... we found small pockets of beautiful secluded beaches through the trees and after about thirty minutes we came across a waterfall tumbling into a natural pool. A little further on we discovered an old prison area where outlawed Britons were held captive on the way to Australia to prevent the spread of typhoid, plus a viaduct dating back to the 19th century.

      ... could be a bit treacherous but it was OK, nothing like the trek I did in the muddy hills of Chang Mai in Thailand!  We hiked up and down and in to the forest, passing several small beaches along the way before reaching our destination.  It was a shame the skies were grey but the waves looked spectacular crashing into the coastline.  We relaxed on the beach for a short time before taking the last ferry of the day back to the village.
