      ... to jump on just as the skies opened with full on storm. We were all crouched under towels and sarongs trying not to freeze - you couldn't look up without being battered in the face by the rain.       ... us Portuguese and introduced us to Brazilian music, showing us how to dance the samba and forró. We went on their boat, made caipirinhas, danced on deck and jumped in the sea at five in the morning. We also befriended a very smiley man who was overwhelmed by our love of football and danced with us on our last night on the island.

      ... brazilian in a hammock who spoke little english, a hostel with no wifi, phone signal and no lights on the trail at night 30 minutes up the mountain from the beach... obviously I was a tantrum ensued on my part.

      ... day we decided to go hiking again, a recommendation by two Aussie guys from our hostel. It was well worth the walk. Taking them up on their advice we set out on another 5 hour hike left from Abraao. The beginning of the hike took us past two small beaches to the ruins of Ilha Grande´s former prison, Lazareto, then up to an old aqueduct to a small swimming hole where local Brazilian boys were jumping off cliffs (Fi has a great video of this) and sliding down slippery rocks.
