... was an interesting touch!
The rest of our time on the island was spent relaxing on the beach, swimming and of course eating and drinking although not as much as I would have liked as I picked up a tummy bug and wasn't feeling 100%. We also had dinner at Bophut Fishermans Village and at Chaweng Beach before leaving on Saturday afternoon to fly back to Vientiane.
All in all it was a great way to celebrate a 57th birthday.
... finished all series of Breaking Bad, we've moved on to start House of
Cards and have got the next season of Homeland ready to go too!
So, what else did we do?! Well, we made
it to a few of the other beaches on the island (via the circulating
'taxis' - hanging on in the back of a choka-block truk), such as
Nathan, Mae Nam (more popular as nearer a main pier), BoPhut and
Chewang (much more populated with tourists, cafes and bars being the
'party' side). We ...
... really helpful and extremely efficient. It has a pool and the weather isn't too bad considering it had been raining earlier. Decide to chill out all day by the pool. Meet two Austrians, a Netherlands and a Brazilian. Walk to an ATM which is broken, have to walk for another kilometre and then we find one yay. Looking for somewhere to eat, nothing to be found. ... from the original Full Moon Party at the end of the month, everyone has tagged onto it and uses it to promote random events, there are also Half Moon Parties. We started at Legends again, minus Ash this time though as she wasn't feeling too good :(! We went to check out the advertised BMP at a 'stadium', as soon as we got there we hated it! We didn't stay too long, instead we went onto Ark Bar for a boogie on the beach!! Another good night ...
... all trip, just to sit and think in solitude. Not too awful for being "stranded". For traveling 3 weeks in Thailand, we really have had good luck. This was the only real hiccup getting ripped off. I walked back to the villa and Keli and I waited till the car was ready. Before we knew it we had purchased ferry tickets to Koh Phangan and were waiting in line to board.
