It's still bloody hot but this is a nice camp, and very quickly neutralised the memories of last night...
After a record quick set-up we threw ourselves into the lake, and have had I think about 8 swims so far. Fresh water, about 26deg, the usual pebble beach and bottom, but ...

... the hike was very steep downhill. (Tomorrow we go up!) We passed plenty of cows and sheep and a few donkeys. No wild life, but the birds were singing to us while we trekked through the forest and many of the cows and sheep jingled their bells as we passed. ... back. There are about 5000 to 6000 who walk around Mont Blanc each summer, and we are surprised there are so many we pass and leap frog, as we go. As we arrived at our lodging for the night we are surprised to see so many there, approx 80, including us. There were 4 children ranging from 7 to 10 y.o. Who had also been walking today. I At each lodge you can purchase soft drinks, beer, wine, coffee, tea, etc sometimes cake too. Tonight we share ...

... fashioned, but comfortable enough. Once checked in and showered we walked around the village to weigh up our evening meal options. There weren't many! We found a small bistro, just about the only place open on a cold, damp Monday evening, and ordered pasta, cep, a pitcher of local wine and some chocolate roulade to finish.

We wanted to make an early start the next day as we had a 100 km to cycle, including a lot of climbing, so we were early to ...
