Today we had to get up and be ready to leave for Switzerland. We set off at around 9:00 and headed out of Paris. Once final look at the Eiffel Tower and we were off into the French countryside. After the very busy day most of our tour group had in Paris, we were a very quiet group with many of us sleeping for at least some off the morning. The coach was cold enough that we needed to be wearing jumpers however at each of our break stops it was around 36 degrees off the coach. ...
... a large lake. The signs said 2 hours back to Engelberg... so I decided to hike down the mountain. A rough and rocky trip, with nothing but grand views and herds of cows to keep me company. as I drew to 30 mins from town I ran into some others heading up the hill. A beer and cheese platter for a late lunch, then a rest before dinner. Switzerland is a most beautiful part of the world. Tomorrow... ...

What we learnt day:
In Europe they have truck free Sunday. No trucks are allowed on the road. At all the servos we pulled into, trucks were parked with the curtains pulls in the back cab. I can only imagine the uproar that would occur if this type of law was passed in Australia.

... monument then headed back to the shopping area & wandered along the lovely old town streets. Over Chapel Bridge to get back to our hotel the Waldstatterhof, a 3 star hotel with a great location but quite small single rooms.
Monopole Hotel next dor to ours had a great bar on the top floor with a panoramic view over the city, so enjoyed a drink there before walking to our recommended restaurant, Wirtshaus Taube, for dinner.
