... experienced anywhere like that before. Not even Manila was that bad.

We all decided to go to the legendary 7eleven for pre-drinks. We all bought a beer and sat down in the shop getting to know each other. We then got told to leave the shop because we weren't allowed to drink the beers inside. The security guard told us that we can use the shops tables and chairs outside.

Sabine arrived on time and the pick up went smooth - exept that we found one of the very rare crooked taxi drivers with a to fast meter, but Jens quickly solved the issue and we got the ride for free.

... Lopez de Legazpi (ole) found a statue of Baby Jesus. There was a long queue of devotees who wanted to worship. It was very impressive to see once again how devoted the Christians in the Philippines are. For example on Fridays there are hourly messes from 5 AM to noon as well as in the evening.

A bit further north was is the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral with its nice all white facade. Even more ...

... for breakfast. The weather outside is looking pretty grim, dull sky and pounding rain. It's like being back home but the rain here probably turns to acid as it falls through the exhaust fumes. We decide to relax in the room and maybe head out later as Anna is feeling unwell and we are both in need of a day doing nothing. And we have a TV in this room, a real-life working TV, with channels on it and everything! It's Will Smith Day on the movie channel and we watch four(ish) ...

The Alaya Centre is quite unlike anything I have seen since leaving England. I felt like I was in England, accessorize, topshop, marks and spencer. It was all quite a shock!
