The hotel was fairly dated but clean and the rooms not massive but big enough. Ok hotel- you get what you pay for. Staff very friendly. Short walk up a hill from the harbour (not even 5 mins away). If went again would probably choose a hotel on the seafront though overlooking the harbour.

Since deciding to include Vietnam in our travel itinerary both Tim and I have been very excited by the idea of visiting Halong Bay. We did our research before reserving a tour as we had heard some horror stories about budget trips and finally booked up with Fantasea cruises. We wanted to squeeze every opportunity out of touring the bay so we opted …

Junk boats relay between kayak stop, floating restaurant's and Halong and Hai Phong Town's.

Plus she had to explain to everyone else where I was and that then put a downer on the morning when everyone sort of paired off and she was with the guide from the ship.

I managed to sleep most of the time that she was gone and somehow wasable to get out of bed for breakfast but only wanted ...

... as big as a peanut. The water falls were amazing especially with the sound of the jungle around us. We ate our food on banana leaves which was cool because you could literally launch your plate over your head when you were done. We got to a couple of bamboo lodges where a couple lived next to the river. Once again we had no ...
