Playa del Carmen is the next major town located south of Cancun and a lot more laid back. It has a funky vibe with obviously height restrictions on buildings as nothing was really over 3 or 4 stories compared to the high rises to the north. We checked into at a great new hostel located a short hop off the main drag of fifth avenue. We spent the afternoon exploring the beach and shopping strip ...

... more surprised to see such an Israeli presence in Playa del Carmen. We spent some of our time at a nearby Mega store similar to Loblaw at home looking at the different groceries and trying to figure out how to use the disinfectant produce spray they sell here. The little bit of wandering around the streets we did led us to a hair salon where Jason claims he was given "the best haircut ever!" and also came into contact a few with friendly ...

The next day we were headed for our last stop of the trip. Cancun :-)

Knowing a sad goodbye to our new lovely friends was nigh we prolonged the reality by deciding to catch the same boat off the island together. We had a plane to catch and they had a bus to find but the great news was that we were all heading in the same direction and refused to believe we wouldn't find a way to meet up somewhere in ...

      Iguanas
One of the daily tasks/events that the kids and adults reveled in was feeding the family or families of Iguanas that live near Elisa's home. Every morning we would take the scraps of fruit and recently discovered new Iguana treat meat scraps around the corner where the Iguanas live. They clearly knew what was coming because as we approached, several of the Iguans were perched on a wall over ...
