Charming, well-appointed hotel set in former home of famous Peruvian archaeologist Julio C Tello. Original murals on walls and fabulous location 5 mins from Larcomar shopping centre. Walking distance to shops and markets in Miraflores. 24 hour reception, safe location, wonderful beds, pillows, patios, breakfast included. Served us 4:30 am breakfast to accommodate our early flight.

We stayed in Miraflores region of Lima which is right on the ocean. Ocean breeze was refreshing after the heat of Iguassu. Good food, people are helpful and friendly and happy to cater to tourists. Remember to negotiate Taxi fare!! No set price and it varies considerably by driver! Took a tour of the Huaca Pucllana. A nice initiation to ancient culture before visiting Machu Picchu.

Lima, a huge city with 8 million people on the Pacific Ocean. I don't think I would like to come back here. The air is dirty and my throat hurts from breathing the bad air! Tomorrow we go to the jungle! We went to a ancient city within Lima today. The guide said it never rains here. She was 12 years old before she experienced rain!! No rain, no snow, no thunder or wind, just sunny days. Crazy!

To be fair, pretty much all of the girls in our group took turns 'babysitting’ me, either having a go at bat tennis or table tennis or something involving a blue bouncy ball.

This week we are heading further south in Peru in the direction of Cusco and the Macchu Pichu trek. ...

The solution appears to have been the brain's separate hemispheres. Each of these neuronal masses is sufficient in itself and on its own to sustain consciousness. And since attention is an aspect of consciousness (a machine can carry out tasks, but it cannot attend) each ...
