Charming, well-appointed hotel set in former home of famous Peruvian archaeologist Julio C Tello. Original murals on walls and fabulous location 5 mins from Larcomar shopping centre. Walking distance to shops and markets in Miraflores. 24 hour reception, safe location, wonderful beds, pillows, patios, breakfast included. Served us 4:30 am breakfast to accommodate our early flight.

... for the adolescent mind, of all ages: Pow! Zap! Boom!, explosions, aggression, superficial sex, incessant change, shiny surfaces, ceaseless growth, the new, the fast, the ever youthful, the momentarily exciting. There is no sense of the deeper meanings, the profundity of life, no sense of the fact that decisions about the future need to be made not just from the point of view of what is going to show up on the bottom line of the next quarterly report, but what is going to affect ...

Saturday was spent recovering from the night before. Not the alcohol or loss of dignity. We returned back to Mili's at 2:30am and my body clock woke me up at 6am telling me to run. I ended up functioning on minimal sleep which was okay, because Mili and i managed to sit down for lunch and not get up again until we had talked our way up to dinner and beyond. Sunday I woke up to a brilliant sun shining in. I ran along the sea and what a ...

They don't use the knowledge the spirit has put into every one of them; they are not even aware of this, and so they stumble along blindly on the road to nowhere - a paved highway which they themselves bulldoze and make smooth so that they can get faster to the big empty hole which they'll find at the end, waiting to swallow them up. It's a quick comfortable superhighway, but ...

... a bit longer and came across the place we were looking for, Sola Cuba. We walked into a salsa wonderland and realised we had made a grievous error. Not only did everyone in the joint know each other, they were also pretty professional and experienced. However, Kathy ballsed up and asked some of the guys to dance. Then to ensure that people know she was good, I asked her to teach me, this was met with raucous laughter and me attempting to fix my toe left feet. After sitting ...

Another early start for a change and onto a cold bus for a 45 minute ride from Puno to Juliaca airport. The town of Juliaca is the town that you would never want to visit. It has no character, few sealed roads, square concrete and brick buildings mostly unfinished with reinforcing climbing into the sky. There were countless unfinished petrol stations on each side of town. We really don't know why this town is where it ...
