We stayed in Miraflores region of Lima which is right on the ocean. Ocean breeze was refreshing after the heat of Iguassu. Good food, people are helpful and friendly and happy to cater to tourists. Remember to negotiate Taxi fare!! No set price and it varies considerably by driver! Took a tour of the Huaca Pucllana. A nice initiation to ancient culture before visiting Machu Picchu.

Lima, a huge city with 8 million people on the Pacific Ocean. I don't think I would like to come back here. The air is dirty and my throat hurts from breathing the bad air! Tomorrow we go to the jungle! We went to a ancient city within Lima today. The guide said it never rains here. She was 12 years old before she experienced rain!! No rain, no snow, no thunder or wind, just sunny days. Crazy!

Did you know in the old days Catholics were buried under the Church? We saw their bones piled under this church. The bones were organized by strength. The skulls and femurs were pilled together in deeper wells because they are stronger. The thing that scared me the most were the skulls because they looked so real. Dad told me the bones do not mean anything. It's your soul that matters. I still think ...
