Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain and Canary Islands amidlifecrisis... city is quite cheap. Last summer (July) Helen, Jess and myself were doing a week at Pueblo Ingles (an English immersion programme) and we started the week off in Madrd, we paid 11E each for a very nice room right in the centre. We've had rooms in Bilbao, Malaga and other Spanish cities for 30E a night, that would be a whole room to ourselves with our own bathroom. So, with the cost of a bed ringing in our ears (plus we couldn't get into the dorm until 1330 to dump our ...

Ourense, Spain juampapitaOn Tuesday night we went to dinner for my fatherīs b-day...nice meal. Afterwards David and I met up with his friends and had a night out on the town here in Vigo. Great to see everyone...my how time goes by (grown, married, etc ...
Monção, Portugal amigos... so everyone hides behind wood walls and come out occassionally to have him charge. The bull is soooo strong and ******, so after a bit of this the pickadors come out (two horses with men on them...the horses are completely covered, including the eyes so the horse does not freak out, with an unpenitrable material and the guy has a stick with a poke at the end about 3-4 inches long before a crossbar stops it from going any further) This photo ...
Pontevedra, Spain amigos... the car. my 1st accident in the DR. it was a little traumatic, but the dominicans took it in stride, the music and dancing on the bus never ceased, and within 20 mins, we were back on our way to the beach. thankfully everyone was OK, but the other car was pretty totalled. 9:45-12:00-the crazy ride to the beach continues, with Presidente(the beer of choice) flowing on the bus, with bachata and merengue blaring from the speakers like it's a concert, with ...
Santiago, Dominican Republic kelsianne82... old paparazzi/celeb interest magazines to look through at the albergue...really, I just felt dirty looking at the picture of Maggie Gyllenhaal breastfeeding. We also played Spit (the card game) that night and it went on forever--which is fair enough, as we weren't doing anything anyway. Sometimes, that's true travelling for me: having absolutely ...

Santiago, Dominican Republic heidimarie... be nice if I just didnīt have to worry about it anymore, but no, IĻm still applying the repellent like itīs my perfume. Iīm quite lovely down here. On a sad note, a girl from my Special Ed group, Leah, is Early Terminating, and will be leaving back for the States sometime within the next week. She lives really close to me, so Iīm really sad to be losing her, but Iīm glad that sheīll be going home and will be happy.
Santiago, Dominican Republic kelsianne82... much that night, other than chat to a few in the hostel and get takeaway pasta from the restaurant across the road. I did meet up with Jason and Vicki who'd I'd seen in the hostel a week before and who'd just got back from Easter Island. I was able to grill them on what to see and do while I was there, which was quite useful. The following morning I was ...
