Since we spent the day yesterday riding through the countryside, we decided to spend today doing the big sites in Bruges proper. Knowing it would take a lot of energy, we started the day climbing the famous Bruges belfry tower. The belfry was a symbol of status and power when it was built in the middle ages and is a well-known aspect of the city's skyline for miles around.
