... checking the Visitor's Books at each cemetery to see if we can come across any evidence of the North High connection visiting the same places we have been. This was all we could do of our tour (Flanders Fields Museum in Ieper being closed on Mondays and we have visited the Menin Gate twice for the 8pm service) so we followed Bob Shaw's recommendation and headed towards Poperinge to see the Lyssenthock Cemetery. This was a real highlight of our day. Our visit began in the very ...
In Bruges (Come on, I had to...)
... I managed to drive through 2 No Entry signs. The first time even another driver in a French car followed me before immediately doing a 3-point turn - even the French don't understand their own signs! Miserable signage. ... areas. Turns out Brugge and Chris have one distinct factor in common, too: lasagna.
Early the next morning, C and I steal away for a quiet walk outside the canals through idyllic neighborhoods. We eat pastries and drink bold coffee. Brugge is lovely in the morning before the throngs of tourists either awaken from drunken slumber or arrive by the busloads.
We catch a tour of De Halve Maan (The Half Moon) Brewery with our dear Irish ...
