... up a couple of postcards after walking along the hotel zone. I noticed a sign warning you about the crocodile infested waters - no joke!! Then back to the good old supermarket, where I picked up a rather unusual dinner; rice with chunks of bull and a pepsi. I was able to get it warmed up with a nice clean microwave they have, and that is especially for customers.

When we touched down in Cancun we were so happy to finally see some sun. After taking close to 2 hours to clear customs we headed to town to check out our accommodation. Tuesday It was cold and windy today. We stayed in the apartment trying to entertain ourselves by making plans for when the weather breaks. In the evening we went to an Indian restaurant that had been recommended by friends. We caught a combi (a minibus with seats round every side and standing in the middle!) which was an experience for our guests. ... says, make it right, but Mexican's say, make it work". You wouldn't believe what passes here for construction. But hey, you got to do what you got to do. R says you have to watch where you're walking, because nobody else cares. I'm blown away when we walk down the street, everything is just slapped together and you have to be careful every where you walk. Craters every turn you take.

After spending 6 nights in the cheaper area of Cancun we decided to indulge a little and head to the main tourist part of Cancun, what they call Zona Hotelera (hotel zone). It's where all the beautiful beaches and big resorts are. There are no hotels in this area that are on the beach that were in our budget so we had to spend a little extra which we didn't mind for a few days of luxury (or so we thought).
