... see some things there and then head east to the beach. The bus timetable said each of these trips should take about 30 mins. Unfortunately, I also noticed that you can get to Burano from Murano, which I didn't think was true when I looked at the routes yesterday. Had I known I would've just tacked it onto the Murano trip yesterday and saved us a lot of time! Anyway, we had an idea of what we wanted to do and around 10:30 we set off. ... appreciated. Unfortunately we finished on some pretty ordinary and very expensive secondi dishes that would have left bad tastes in our mouths had we not been given copious amounts of complimentary limoncello to wash it all down. Yay for alcohol once again!! The night finished on a high as we walked the now deserted back streets and bridges back to our hotel. To us, for this 45 odd minutes, the touristic Venice became the traditional millennia old Venezia.

... and Burano. These were both very cool.

Murano is known for amazing glass blowing done on the island. We got a quick tour of the facility and one of the men created a glass horse in about two minutes time. The showroom had some amazing stuff in it. We were not allowed to take photos inside the showroom, but some of the things in there were absolutely incredible. Once everyone was together we headed off to a family run glass business, after a short glass blowing demonstration they showed us a few of their unbreakable glasses and jewellery pieces. All were incredible and I would have loved to have bought a glass and decanter set. One piece that had a profound effect on me was a decent sized elephant that had bubbles through it. ... Venetian history through its arts collection. Starting to struggle on the history front and when I looked towards the second floors exhibits I got the devil stare from Rachael....and our museum trip was over.
