Historical Traveler Reviews Britselei 37 Antwerp

    Tolles Hotel/Apartment

    from

    from

    Absolument fantastique !

    from

    Ottimo albergo/appartamento

    from

I proprietari era sempre gentili e disponibili.

    Great Hotel/Apartment

    from

Stayed at Britselei 37, while doing a Triathlon in Antwerp. The apartment was very well furnished with excellent facilities. The owners were at all times very friendly and helpful. They really made an effort to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Britselei 37 is about a 10-15min walk from the heart of Antwerp.

    Absolutely phantastic!

    from

we stayed at the britselei 37 with our 4 month old baby. the set up was perfect, the rooms all appear to consist of a living / kitchen area, a spacious bedroom and a bathroom. everything was extremely clean, new, the furniture tasteful, and a comp fridge filled with wine, water, juice, yoghurt, etc. the hotel does not have a restaurant but to be honest we did not miss this at all as we were given bread, spreads and had fresh croissants delivered to our room for breakfast. there was absolutely nothing i could complain about, i have not yet stayed at a better, more beautiful and clean hotel so far. while it is not located right in next to the old church, the walk to most attractions is extremely short. highly recommended!

    ¡absolutamente fantástico!

    from

    from

    Friendly owners, beautiful room

    from

The hotel rooms are in a grand, converted townhouse which looks to be late 1800's or early 1900's. Our room had 14 foot ceilings with beautiful painted decoration, 2 non-working original fireplaces, high windows and original hardwood floors with inlay.

The owners installed small, modern kitchens stocked with an espresso machine (they include the coffee) and a refrigerator with beer and wine! The bathrooms are also modern and include 2 sinks.

The owners went out of their way to make car, dinner and taxi reservations for my wife and me. The restaurant choice was amazing. And I even came home to dried and folded clothes after doing some "emergency" wash in the sink.

For business, the free internet and car service made my stay quite easy. This is much better value for money than most any hotel I've stayed in.

    Highly recommended.

We sat down and watched Lawrence of Arabia (and saw Meg's grandad as an extra!) which went on til about 2am but we managed to stay til the end, and also got free tomato and paprika soup which was good! Walked back to the hostel and went to bed about ...

... If I closed my eyes and took a bite I would have definitely thought I was eating right off of the ocean floor. Although I wasn't a fan of the food I couldn't help but appreciate every moment: the old cobble stone streets, the endless pleas of the store employees to lure people into their restaurants, and the accordion player traveling down the street with his son lagging behind with his tambourine. We then gave into the ...

... adventure! However, it was getting late in the day, and I wanted to make it back to Brussels before night came. We headed back to the station to catch trains to our respective places. I bid adieu to Margaux, but would see here at work on Monday anyways! Then, hopped the train back to Brussels.

I stayed in last night to rest up. Now, all day today I have just been packing and cleaning because I only have about 3 days left in my apartment! I ...

... Then we went to the center of town to check out a few churches and spent a while checking out a very nice view of the city. We wandered around another few churches before trying to get into the main palace, only to find out that it was closed until mid July. In the process of discovering the closed palace, we found a model having a ridiculous photo shoot done in front of one of the gates. Very funny. She ...
