Historical Traveler Reviews Britselei 37 Antwerp

        Tolles Hotel/Apartment

        from

        Absolument fantastique !

        from

I proprietari era sempre gentili e disponibili.

        Great Hotel/Apartment

Stayed at Britselei 37, while doing a Triathlon in Antwerp. The apartment was very well furnished with excellent facilities. The owners were at all times very friendly and helpful. They really made an effort to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Britselei 37 is about a 10-15min walk from the heart of Antwerp.

        Absolutely phantastic!

        from

we stayed at the britselei 37 with our 4 month old baby. the set up was perfect, the rooms all appear to consist of a living / kitchen area, a spacious bedroom and a bathroom. everything was extremely clean, new, the furniture tasteful, and a comp fridge filled with wine, water, juice, yoghurt, etc. the hotel does not have a restaurant but to be honest we did not miss this at all as we were given bread, spreads and had fresh croissants delivered to our room for breakfast. there was absolutely nothing i could complain about, i have not yet stayed at a better, more beautiful and clean hotel so far. while it is not located right in next to the old church, the walk to most attractions is extremely short. highly recommended!

        ¡absolutamente fantástico!

        from

        from

        Friendly owners, beautiful room

        from

The hotel rooms are in a grand, converted townhouse which looks to be late 1800's or early 1900's. Our room had 14 foot ceilings with beautiful painted decoration, 2 non-working original fireplaces, high windows and original hardwood floors with inlay.

The owners installed small, modern kitchens stocked with an espresso machine (they include the coffee) and a refrigerator with beer and wine! The bathrooms are also modern and include 2 sinks.

The owners went out of their way to make car, dinner and taxi reservations for my wife and me. The restaurant choice was amazing. And I even came home to dried and folded clothes after doing some "emergency" wash in the sink.

For business, the free internet and car service made my stay quite easy. This is much better value for money than most any hotel I've stayed in.

        Highly recommended.

Not too much of a lie in because despite us saying our tour starts at 10.00. The reception insists that we will be picked up at 8.30 So we had a cold breakfast, including that which should have been hot, surly waiters who of course only speak French and make no effort to do otherwise. However we got ready and went down only to find that they were wrong and now told us that we would be picked up at 9.30. Not the ...

Entering our room we struggled to find which bed was ours in the dark in the overcrowded 24 bed dorm. I took a middle bunk, while Bridget was lucky enough to sleep on the top bunk which was three beds up.

Waking up for the free breakfast with limited sleep we were ready to make our way back to Sheffield to continue our working ...

Marc, our host, helped us with our luggage down the steep stairs that lead up to the apartment and then off we went to the station. It only took 35 minutes to get to Brussels from Antwerpen which made a nice change.I booked a hotel directly opposite the train station as we need to catch the Eurostar to London quite early on Friday morning. We were pretty much exhausted from lack of sleep that we decided to just stay in. We had burgers and chips for supper ...
