Historical Traveler Reviews Britselei 37 Antwerp

      Tolles Hotel/Apartment

      from

      Absolument fantastique !

      from

I proprietari era sempre gentili e disponibili.

      Great Hotel/Apartment

Stayed at Britselei 37, while doing a Triathlon in Antwerp. The apartment was very well furnished with excellent facilities. The owners were at all times very friendly and helpful. They really made an effort to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Britselei 37 is about a 10-15min walk from the heart of Antwerp.

      Absolutely phantastic!

      from

we stayed at the britselei 37 with our 4 month old baby. the set up was perfect, the rooms all appear to consist of a living / kitchen area, a spacious bedroom and a bathroom. everything was extremely clean, new, the furniture tasteful, and a comp fridge filled with wine, water, juice, yoghurt, etc. the hotel does not have a restaurant but to be honest we did not miss this at all as we were given bread, spreads and had fresh croissants delivered to our room for breakfast. there was absolutely nothing i could complain about, i have not yet stayed at a better, more beautiful and clean hotel so far. while it is not located right in next to the old church, the walk to most attractions is extremely short. highly recommended!

      ¡absolutamente fantástico!

      from

      from

      Friendly owners, beautiful room

      from

The hotel rooms are in a grand, converted townhouse which looks to be late 1800's or early 1900's. Our room had 14 foot ceilings with beautiful painted decoration, 2 non-working original fireplaces, high windows and original hardwood floors with inlay.

The owners installed small, modern kitchens stocked with an espresso machine (they include the coffee) and a refrigerator with beer and wine! The bathrooms are also modern and include 2 sinks.

The owners went out of their way to make car, dinner and taxi reservations for my wife and me. The restaurant choice was amazing. And I even came home to dried and folded clothes after doing some "emergency" wash in the sink.

For business, the free internet and car service made my stay quite easy. This is much better value for money than most any hotel I've stayed in.

      Highly recommended.

We decide we need to have some vegetables and the hostel had a great kitchen so I went to the nearest lidl and grabbed some groceries. I spent 16 euro but managed to get enough food for breakfast lunch and tea for two days. I made a delicious Mediterranean pasta with chicken eggplant zuchinni mushroom and onion with pesto sauce it was soooo dam ...

Overall, a great tour, well appreciated from a pregnant guide! We spent the evening in playing a great game called Munchkin (simple and fun dungeons and dragons style game), along with enjoying some beer and cheese. A good ...

... our uneventful journey to Brussels. Though on the outskirts of town (a trend of this tour) we over nighted in a modern hotel with single beds ... we hope that is not a trend!

That night we didn't take the tour (a Kitchin trend!), but walked ourselves at dusk all over the town, up a glass lift, around the old town alleys and shops particularly chocolate ones and ...

... we attended a house party of Kris’s friends. These people were friendly, and gee did they know how to throw a house party. After they finished eating, they moved the furniture aside, creating a dance space, then brought out the DJ station, smoke machines, and of course plenty of drinks. Soon we realised that not only do the Belgians do good beer and chocolate, but they also knew how to party.

More sightseeing was to be done the following day. We ...

... explained the guild houses and then as it was Sunday we could go inside the town hall. It was very impressive and worth the tour just to go in there. From here we explored some other areas and laneways before the tour finished. I had a tip about a nice cafe so headed there and it turned out to be the foyer cafe at a theatre. It was nice inside and I tried a cherry beer which was quite nice. I then ...
