        Not too much of a lie in because despite us saying our tour starts at 10.00. The reception insists that we will be picked up at 8.30 So we had a cold breakfast, including that which should have been hot, surly waiters who of course only speak French and make no effort to do otherwise.         ... and had to exchange our remaining euros at a currency converter which was unusually open at 2 am just around the corner from the hostel. Entering our room we struggled to find which bed was ours in the dark in the overcrowded 24 bed dorm. I took a middle bunk, while Bridget was lucky enough to sleep on the top bunk which was three beds up.

        Marc, our host, helped us with our luggage down the steep stairs that lead up to the apartment and then off we went to the station. It only took 35 minutes to get to Brussels from Antwerpen which made a nice change.I booked a hotel directly opposite the train station as we need to catch the Eurostar to London quite early on Friday morning. We were pretty much exhausted from lack of sleep that we decided to just stay in. We had burgers and chips for supper ...
