... the main square after sunrise and after getting Euros at an ATM. We're back to the Euros here, but we'll be hitting countries again that don't use it. That means prices are a bit higher, but still quite reasonable for Europe.

We walked around a bit and took photos of the buildings and fountains. They also have a lovely Opera House, and it was completed at about the same time as the ones in Lviv, Budapest, and Vienna.

... good shot, she realises that sunflowers are invariably all facing the sun and thus also in the wrong direction for good photography! She wonders whether they turn their heads during each day ( no time to stop & watch & AG does not know the answer. ) & whether they get confused on dull days when there is no sun!

... us continued to Sarospatak to tour the Rakoczi family castle. The village is cute and the streets leading up to the castle are lined with vendors selling everything from candy to langos (fried bread) to souvenirs. The castle itself is well maintained, with an extensive park surrounding it. There were several places where you could see the depth of the walls, which must have been at least 3 or 4 feet thick. ... humped masses near the cellar entrances (cellar ceilings) as well as vent stacks to allow for air circulation. We also walked past the Oremus winery, a major Tokaji wine producer- they had a pretty big setup. The surrounding hills were covered with vineyards- so pretty.
