      ... d met some more Irish folk (why are they always Irish?) and of course Derek was tagging along, and we had a couple of drinks in the hostel before we left.       ... so we were able to explore all the different neighbourhoods. The historic and municipal Centro area, with its cobbled pedestrian streets, pink palace, cathedral, national congress and many squares had a very European feel. The centre also has a very nice riverside area, great for a few afternoon drinks.

      Next came the venison tartare and a perfect duck dish which were matched with two different Malbec's one from the Uco Valley which was a more elegant style whilst the other two were more powerful and full bodied. The first was a Shiraz from Mendoza and the second Malbec of the night was from the northern part of Patagonia and packed a punch. It was very well balanced but at 15.1% alcohol is no light weight.
