This is perfect for the drinking orientated traveller. They play loud music till the early hours of the morning (normally finishing between 2-4am), and when the music finally packs in the mosquitoes keep you awake till morning. Yes it is cheap, and it can provide a suitable resting place; as long as you invest in a decent mozzy net and ear plugs. Good location!

Today did not really go to plan, stupid buses! I'm also really suffering with my neck, carrying my rucksack seems to be aggravating it.

Today we are really focused on what we are going to do, we are going on the funicular to Penang Hill and to the botanical gardens. We catch a bus and that's fine. We arrive at the …

I'm beginning to think my first impressions were correct, not really sure I'm going to like George Town!

Today we decide to catch the free city bus, but we wait for a long time and eventually it comes. Malaysia is trying to be tourist friendly but I can't say it's buses are! We get off the bus near Fort Cornwallis and …

We are moving on today, off to George Town in Penang on the 2.30pm bus. In the morning we walk to a waterfall near our hotel but it's full of rubbish, it could be so pretty if it was cleaned up. There is also a suspension bridge which the kids love bouncing on! We camp out in Starbucks again to kill some time and to use their …

We got up and tucked into a delicious buffet breakfast, which even had hash browns on offer. Something that we have both been craving. We set off on our 125cc Yamaha scooter, with a map and headed for the south coast. The highway was busy, with lots of traffic lights and four lanes of traffic. Thankfully there were no roundabouts, because we have …
