... tip!), then set the sat Nav for The Keys and headed on out of Miami. Well, I think we got about 1 mile from South Beach before we hit a major traffic jam. We tried sneaking off down other streets but every route took us back to the jam on the main route out. I even smacked my wing mirror into a UPS delivery van....oops! We eventually passed the cause of the hold up. There was a major car crash on the other side of the highway. Looked nasty. Lots of cops ...

We left around 10am on Sunday June 8th and headed due south. It only took about 3 hours to reach Miami; although this city is at the southern end of the mainland, there is still a LONG chain of islands trailing out into the Caribbean, so we were nowhere near our destination. We will be heading north on May 28th, so if any one wants to get in touch with us use either email or cell phone numbers.

... so many trailers, mobile homes, shacks and burnt out, soulless people and junkies in one setting. Some folks call the locals quaint but I call them scary and depressing. And I am no stranger to scary, depressed people due to my occupation. Adding to the mix are the tourists who are everywhere. It is very, very crowded in Marathon. Some of the tourists appear to have stayed on permanently in what they apparently hoped would be paradise only to barely eke out a substandard ...

... to do? Well, we found that the tolls are collected by a system that photographs your license plate and then sends you a bill for the toll plus an administrative charge. Ok, we can do this but we also saw that we could avoid the admin charge by setting up an online prepaid account. Ok, I do this and put $35 on the account.

We headed out yesterday morning happily knowing that we were all set for the toll roads that ...
