The Opera we saw was "Un ballo in maschera" by Giuseppe Verdi. It was really well done, but with bizarre sets involving a rotating stage and a giant Medusa head, and costumes, involving lots of black angels and skeletons. Switzerland - Day 14
A 0600 am wake up was on the cards today for our little day trip to Zermatt, a village in the alps at the foot of the Matterhorn the famous and highest mountain peak in Switzerland. It was a 2 hour train ride which we shared with great company of Petra and Reto that took us through some of the most picturesque and exist Switzerland country side. Staying with Stefan and Urs in Wetzikon
... back to where we started. We drove home over the Julia Passe which Stefan informed us is the only mountain pass in Switzerland that remains open all year round. More beautiful scenery and a two and a half hour drive for Stefan before we were home, but this didn't stop him again preparing a sumptuous home cooked meal for us.
