We got up, headed to the beach to sing 'happy birthday' to John, then went back to the room, packed our bags and took a taxi to another (supposedly busier) resort on Koh Lanta.

... Boo!! The room was £2 a night cheaper and the complete opposite from the last room. Where the last was lovely outside and a dive inside, on the outside it was not nice but inside much better- we're not talking 3* but for £12 a night not bad at all. ... of the businesses are run by Europeans. The boys weren’t interested in spending their holidays with animals of the furry kind, but it was actually really interesting to see the set up. It’s all run by volunteers using donations and profits from other businesses (such as Time for Lime), and they have done an excellent job of reducing the number of strays on the island, providing veterinary care and of course their main aim is finding homes for the animals.
