... western loo which was something of a relief! We settled down to bed early as we didnt have high hopes of much sleep. It was pretty noisy and the noise of the train wasnt consistent. Also we kept stopping at stations with bright lights and announcements. In the early hours, the family in the cabin next to ours left. We were up at half 6 ready for the beds to be changed again. Still, I think we definitely got a few broken hours which is better than nothing. We rolled into ...

After some beach time we took a walk to see what the roadside stores and restaurants offered. Many businesses seem to have popped up recently with some having more thought put in to them than others. We ended up on a little cove for lunch looking at perfectly calm blue water. Even pointing to the English menu seemed difficult for them to understand and therefore frustrating for us! The prices weren't great for the portion sizes but that seemed pretty standard in Thailand. Having sorted my stuff, watched some English tv and drew Lauren a card, after dinner we opted for an early ...

... the pictures it looks very tranquil and peaceful, but it wasn't - it was packed. That said, I suppose it says a lot that it was packed with people and still felt quite a relaxing place to be. Before long our guide said our time was up and it was time to swim back through the cave (cue the obligatory whooping and screaming that people less subtle than ourselves always seem to do in caves or tunnels) and then back out to the boat, which seemed to have been parked so far ...
