The next day we explored ...

... canals, and bridges. We went to the Rialto Market, and walked across the infamous Ponte Di Rialto (rialto bridge) which is Venice's first bridge across the grand canal. We walked over to Piazza San Marco where St Mark's Basilica and Palazzo Ducale (the seat of Venice's government for 7 centuries) is, along with many other sites. During our long walk down a maze of streets and canals (the map was glued to my hand at all times, it is so easy to get lost!) we stumbled across a ...

The shared single slice of pizza not satisfying our hunger so we eventually agreed upon a cafe situated along the outside of one of the squares we went through on our way back to the apartment for a mid-day siesta to let the harshest sun pass. It was a pretty good value meal. Tom had a Penne Arribata which was basically penne in a spicy ragu. I was looking for something other than pasta so I ...
