... about to join another tour group.

All present and correct, we headed to Venezia. There is a long bridge called the Bridge of Liberty that forms a long causeway across the lagoon. At the end of the bridge, we had to leave the bus and travel by water taxi to the hotel. I couldn't believe how excited I got, it was really cool blatting along in a wee convoy into Venezia. Getting off the water taxi was an interesting experience. We had to climb off the ...

... into St. Mark’s Square it was eeriely silent. Just the lights gleaming out at you, the pigeons were fast asleep, and the people had all gone home.

Our ferryboat arrived and we headed back to dry land.

      Next stop: Vienna

Venice will eventually disappear underwater, no matter how much prevention is put into place. So if you’d like to ride the gondolas and see the floating city, I’d do it sooner, rather then later. ...

      Venice - Sunny, 24 degrees

1.00 AM - some excitement through the night as Greg rolls over during the night and the leg snaps off the bed. Hard to sleep with head on the floor so we make temporary repairs and wait until morning.

Amazing to go early in the morning to Piazza San Marco revelling in the fact that it is too early for most tourists. The mist adds to the atmosphere and it is really beautiful. We have so far missed out on any high water this time but all ...
