... were closed for the day, or opened late, but we did see the cathedral, it's oratorio and the civic museum, where Joy was delighted to find a fresco by Reni. ... bill and aired our thanks for a wonderful dinner, we spent a while wondering around, watched the skaters on the open air ice rink and then took a small nightcap of grappa in our favourite bar, listening to the said band. Eventually at about one we headed back to the hotel to find that a bucket of ice containing a bottle of bubbly stuff and two glasses and some chocolates had been left in our room :-) well we couldn't let it go to waste!!
