The following morning we will have an 8-hour bus ride to Tamatave/Toamasina, where the Africa Mercy is docked.

I'm pretty nervous for the adventure that lies ahead; but I am confident it will be an unforgettable and life-altering experience. ... were beautifully covered by Jack Frost's handiwork. The trees looked like they were wearing jewel encrusted robes with ice and frost hanging off them in the falling light. We don't experience much winter anymore, so we had to stop and take a few pictures of the fairy wonderland whizzing by. As we got closer to Monschau, we found that traffic was increasing and when we got there, parking was really hard to find anywhere close to the center of town. ...

Ignoring the typical grey sky of a North German autumn we headed out to the spectacular town of Monschau which was established about 1000 years ago. On the way we passed through Holland and Belgium to reach this small German town, an experience that is incomprehensible to an Australian mindset.

To and Huget both had to go to work, so we had a slow start and then drove to Holland! Maastricht, home of André Rieu! Had a lovely day walking around the two market squares, the food and clothes market stalls and then had lunch watching the people walk by. No churches, museums or art galleries today. Said goodbye to Rob and Rob. Then had a slow start on our journey east across Belgium. Then............ John found another battlefield! Waterloo is somewhat different from WW2 and WW1.
