    ... which is now a luxury!) I washed my dirty clothes, washed the bugs off the front of Lily and then waxed it to try to prevent less bug stickage!! So, that was all yesterday.     Today Gitta and Paula drove us over the big Afsluitdyke! I've been wanting to see this! We stopped at the monument and took in the views. There is a monument to the man Lely who was behind the dyke being built. The dyke is 7m above average sea level and about 30km long. Quite a lot of people driving and cycling across today.     ... next airbnb stay. We got a great welcome by Shere, a Spaniard married to a Dutchman. She had an 8 month old baby and they were renting their room in the attic. It was hard to find a place on the Island and the hotels that were not super expensive were all booked. The setup was not ideal since we felt we needed to be very careful not to disturb them. They were super accommodating and made every effort to make us feel welcome.
