A particularly green State, dotted with corn fields since leaving the ferry.
I put only a small selection of "lovely old lady homes" in the blog - there are a few more just on the slideshow, that I could not resist leaving out.
Tomorrow onto Kill Devil hills - Outer Banks
... was horrific. The traffic was congested and we altered our route to get off route 30. Luckily we had our audio book and learned more about the War of 1812.
Even after a great get-away, it always feels so good to get home again to our beloved Cape May.
... and learned about the Coast Guard festival coming up in a few weekends (just missed it!). It was wonderful to spend time catching up with Heather, while the waves crashed along the shore. The tall grasses and sand dunes are just like Cape Cod - it's easy to understand what drew them to this small Victorian town.
After much deliberation, we settled on the Blue Pig Tavern at Congress Hall for a delicious dinner in a cozy setting (see picture below).

This was a fantastic place! This campground was right next to the Indian River Inlet. Next to the campground was the Indian River Bridge. This is one of the most beautiful bridges I have ever seen. Ever day we used to walk to the beach which was just a short walk from our camp site. We explored this area for two weeks. ...
