          Today we decided to travel everywhere by the local bus or vaporetto. We bought day passes and used them with abandon. Sometimes the boats were crowded sometimes not so much, but we pretty much worked out how to get good specs for sightseeing and taking photos. We also found a prosecco we really liked so we bought more for today's lunch, and at $7 a bottle it's too bad we can't bring cases home! On one boat ...

          ... the 'net and getting one of my map apps up to speed so I could give it a start and finish point and ask for instructions... The place is just an incredible maze of little lanes and alley's that twist and turn, and go left and right and up and down, and over bridges and canals that don't seem to figure on the maps, that, even though I actually regard myself as having quite a good sense of direction and also good spacial and map skills, I was totally stuffed! ...

          ... the grand canal from the Saint Lucia
          train station to the docks of Saint Marco square. The cost of the trip was 7€
          and it was worth every cent!
          The word Doge means Duke. So, ultimately, I did a tour of the Duke's
