    Day 9

... but eventually we had to go out to get on the boat for snorkeling. The boat ride to the snorkeling spot was amazing and relaxing! I got a little sea sick once we anchored, but I just jumped in the water with all my snorkeling gear so I was fine. Snorkeling was cool but I had trouble breathing and my mouth piece was broken. It's also sort of gross because everyone bites the same thing that has been on a ton of other people's mouths. ...

... that the second half was much, much steeper. I can say with all honesty, walking up the rest of that mountain was the most physically demanding thing I have done in my life. Leadership was so much fun tonight! We were put into groups of 4 and had 15 minutes ...

At 7:00 we hopped aboard a moto taxi for a ride out to Encuentro to go surfing with iced coffee in hand from the Cabarete Coffee Company. Fair trade, organically grown, community minded - there's a lot to like about them besides their coffee.

The view is nothing short of spectacular on this beautiful morning cruising the 10 minutes along the way to the beach. Motos only go about 40/45 mph so you have time to take in the scenery when ...

... discount, so this may turn into a frequent practice for me!

Surfing is not the only activity my volunteer discount has allowed me access to. The Yoga Loft is in a hotel the offers athletic vacations. Anything from circus getaways, filled with trapeze swing and fabric climbing, to kite surfing and even cross training retreats meant to whip vacation goers into shape. Their yoga has been a serene treat for me and ...
