We woke up early to get in one last snorkel before setting off on a 130 km drive to Ubud. We decided to check out the Bio Rock snorkel spot, a bit further down the beach than where we had been snorkeling before. They had lots of metal structures in the water where the coral was starting to re-grow. The water was much deeper than where we had been so we decided to return to Chris' Garden to see the fish up a bit closer. We were glad we did – since we were ...

Heading clockwise, so as to have a gradual incline and steep fall at the end, rather than ...

... transport I got as far as one of Denpasar Bus Terminals, finding the local drivers less than helpful and wanting to squeeze me every rupiah I had, I walked up to the street only for a local student Wijaya to offer me a ride on his moped to the other bus terminal. In exchange all it cost me was a coffee and an English lesson. I appreciate the irony of that, considering my poor grasp of English spelling and grammar. Wijaya kindly helped me find my way to Ubud and its from ...

Hired a scooter for the day and explored the north of the island. First went to Lovina which is situated along the main 'coast' road and so really busy and unattractive. The beach is nothing to write home about either! The coast road is actually inland slightly so I didn’t get any nice sea views the whole way to Singaraja where i turned off to go to Bedugul where lake Danau Beratan is. After lakes Maninjau and Toba on Sumatra it pales into insignificance however. Nonetheless ...
