We woke up early to get in one last snorkel before setting off on a 130 km drive to Ubud. We decided to check out the Bio Rock snorkel spot, a bit further down the beach than where we had been snorkeling before. They had lots of metal structures in the water where the coral was starting to re-grow. The water was much deeper than where we had been so we decided to return to Chris' Garden to see the fish up a bit closer. We were glad we did – since we were ...

We booked a cheap bus from Ubud to Bedugul, I got chatting to two french ladies on the bus found out that one of them lives in Beijing so was asking wheres good to go.... anyway like with most cheap buses in Bali there is a stop at a place along the way, normally its at a rest stop to get a little money out of you, this stop was a fruit and tea plantation, they gave you samples of about 10 different types of tea and coffee the one I most liked was coconut coffee, we had no ...

We were in a minibus and it was cramped I had to share a seat with Trucker Brice, he joined the trip in Singapore. Luckily he was very slim but we still did not fit on the back seat which we shared with a load of bags. The driver who was very quick to say he knew our hotel, which they all do, was soon on the phone asking someone for directions. We had no ...

Hired a scooter for the day and explored the north of the island. First went to Lovina which is situated along the main 'coast' road and so really busy and unattractive. The beach is nothing to write home about either! The coast road is actually inland slightly so I didn’t get any nice sea views the whole way to Singaraja where i turned off to go to Bedugul where lake Danau Beratan is. After lakes Maninjau and Toba on Sumatra it pales into insignificance however. Nonetheless ...

... temple is in the middle of Bali, to get there one would have to get a private transport. I arranged for a guide to show us around to this temple and of course the infamous Tanah Lot. Our guide, Arlan, came on time and is very friendly and knowledgable. Prior to the trip, I communicated with Arlan via email, stating that the sights I want to visit are Pura Ulun Danu, Pura Tanah Lot and the rice terraces that Bali was also famous for. Arlan spared no efforts in bringing us to a couple ...
