Like we did with Ghent in Belgium, we're making Utrecht our base in Holland and using the trains to explore the other cities. The trains between Utrecht and Amsterdam; Rotterdam and The Hague, all take approximately 30 minutes and there are 4 an hour.

Utrecht is a stunning city, I think it is my favourite European city so far! Having said that, almost every city we stay in we say 'I could live here!'

... We cycled into Amsterdam at about 7pm and met a man who directed us to a youth hostel around the corner. There we stayed. Just around the corner from the hostel was a bike motel where our bikes could stay overnight for free in an underground garage. This was great because we were a bit reluctant to leave them out on the street, particularly after all the stories we had heard about bikes being stolen in Amsterdam. ... women's urinal. Hahahaha, we had some good laughs. Before we knew it, it was 6p, we lost Kit's umbrella, Mom found shoes and a backpack, and we headed home. Kit made another fantastic dinner, we had some Dutch apple crumple desert, and went to bed!

... just isn't the case here. It isn't a bad thing. It is a job for these women and only that. It's interesting. I'm still not sure where I stand or how I feel about it but regardless, it sure had me thinking about cultural norms.

  • Chipsy King- French Fries!!! WITH MAYO! Sounds crazy, but their mayo here is MUCH different than it is in the states. It was so dang good.
