... the bathrooms on the grounds. That was a glorious day! *DONG* The big bell starts going again. Now, the sun has set and its almost completely dark out. With head lamps and some with candle lanterns in hand, we all slowly saunter yet again back to the meditation hall for 30 more minutes of enlightening meditation. I actually quite liked the night time sessions. The four corner pillars had candles which were the only source of light and all you could hear were crickets and geckos. The ...

We were collected from our accommodation in Krabi by the Elephant Hills minibus. A nearly three hour ordeal ensued. What should have been an easy drive was complicated by two toddlers, taking a huge detour along sickeningly windy roads to pick up some more people (resulting in near productive car sickness) and a minibus driver who didnt seem to see/care about upcoming hazards. You ladle this broth into a tiny bowl and it does get more ...

... turn of the river. I liked this canoe trip more than actually being in the Khao Sok park itself.

Again due to dry season the river was quite low and once we got temporarily stuck. We spotted one snake in the trees, but no more monkey. We stopped halfway through for tea. I was given a cup made out of a piece of bamboo with a stirrer. I wondered what sort of forest plant this tea was made out of, but it was pretty good. I kept ...

... for a quick break and Dave said he felt something in his shoe. He took it off and out fell a big fat full leech!! Aaaaahhhhh! We all started to check and sure enough, we all had the bloodsuckers stuck to us. I had one sucking away on my ankle and found two bites on my other ankle where they had had their fill and fallen off. Dave had one between his toes!! And boy does it bleed where they were. Luckily mine weren't too bad but some of the guys looked like they had been ...
