... Sok National Park. Guests stay in luxury ensuite tents (better than most hotels we've stayed in!), there's a pool and a main common area. We gathered here first for a yummy welcome drink, met our guides and checked in. Our guide was called 'Bamboo'. Thai people seem to all have a name and then a nickname which is related in some way to nature, such as plants or weather, quite cute. Our baggage arrived at our tent a few minutes later...nice to not have to carry it there for once! ...

We decided to go out for supper but in this part of town there's hardly anything to be had, however we happen upon an outdoor Korean-style hot-pot-eat-all-you-can place. We are well outside the tourist area and all heads turn as we walk in but we are made welcome and they push forward a shy Thai girl who can speak very little English to help us through the ...
... We arranged to meet at 9am the next day. Day 15 The night's sleep in the bungalow wasn't the easiest as I kept hearing creatures inside! I think it was only a gecko but imagination is an annoying thing in the dark! We had decided to go for the camping trip so we had to pack just a small bag with the bare essentials. After a heartbreaker of a goodbye to our hosts Valerie and Oon...Who told us that we always have a home there!!....if ever we need anything.... What amazing people!...
side note: we met so many amazing people during our stay...many Germans, many French (surtout des Bretons lolll)...very well traveled, adventurous lives and so interesting! Even an invitation to their home abroad...We miss you already!!

Firstly we followed a trail that was supposed to lead to a waterfall, but we only came across a stream with a few steps made of rocks that the water came down, which I suppose in essence is a waterfall, just a very small one! We stopped at a pool for a swim which at first was pretty cold so it took me a while to get in, but once in, it was very refreshing, just what we needed after walking ...
