We headed out into the ocean riding the waves in the kayak and made our way across some reef and into a bay. At the reef we got out and snorkeled... This was my first "facing my shark fear" moment. Only one other guy got out and normally I'd need more people in the water to ...

... as had missed reviews about things worth seeing between Newcastle and Byron... Hindsight. It was a lovely drive, with a stop in Macquerie for fish and chips, a pie near Coffs from the world famous Fredo's pies and then a lengthy drive in to Byron Bay.
