Day 7 - Moretonhampstead to St. Ives

We woke up to a beautiful sunny morning with slight ground-fog covering the verdant hills. By the time we had fueled up with a made-to-order breakfast – I had an omelet soufflé – the fog had burned off to reveal exquisite views across the countryside. We took some time to walk around the property, which included a pond, before loading …

There was a farm vehicle at the front followed by at least 4 miles of trucks, buses and of course ...

This time it was better. Edie got up and contacted her niece Michelle who had some exciting news. She and her sister Jan have booked tours to Cornwall and France n September, with a few other cities thrown in to cover the time between ...

... are very uneven, but not slippery. You have to watch your step all the way. The weather is clear and we get some lovely views. It has been inhabited since the 5th century. After the Norman conquest, the island was gifted to the Benedictine monks of Mont St Michel in Normandy, who raised a new chapel on the site in 1135. The Mount later served as a fortress and is now the family seat for the St Aubyn family. We paid our entrance fee of £10.50 each and started our climb ...
