Get back to the hotel and discover that the room I thought I'd booked has turned into a self contained apartment. And it was big! So nice! We'd already checked out a few restaurants and realised that prices were a bit high, so having the bonus of a small kitchen was fantastic!

Monday dawned and the day of judgement on poor 'Florry' was nigh. We nursed her the seven kilometres to the Ford Garage and waited two hours to find out if we could improve on the previous verdict of 'Kaput'. Eventually we found out that there was a hole in the steering hydraulic hose. Unfortunately there was not a replacement part to be had in Belgium. They would order the part in and all being well we would have our car back by noon on Tuesday.Overjoyed that ...

We made our way North via a monastery at Orval where we had a tour of the ruin (not allowed in the new one) and sampled some of the monks cheese. I would have liked to sample the Trappist beer but too early in the day. We lunched in the town of Dinnant before arriving in Brugge around 6pm. ... get food after the tour at a take away pasta place and headed over to the Basilica of the Holy Blood. This was the one place I really really wanted to go to before we left Brugge. Basically this church holds the relic of what is believed to be Jesus Christ blood. It was really cool to be able to walk right up to the glass cylinder. It looked really gross obviously but it was such a cool experience. The Chapel itself was really beautiful too ...
