... another township we could not drive through as the main road was being reconstructed. This has happened to us three times in the last two days and makes things very difficult when you have no idea where detours are taking you and the Sat Nav lady is telling you to "turn right" into a road that is well and truly blocked! As a consequence of one such detour we stumbled across a major Belgian Cemetery near Houthulst - I had wanted to visit here but had given up hope as it was well ...
More than a touch of wind!!
... look in my emergency instructions found I was to report to the bridge which I duly did, to see the Captain running (yes running!) out onto the wing of the bridge. The Mate was there too and it quickly became obvious what the problem was. The ship had broken its mooring lines and was leaving the quay – even with 2 tugs pushing us on, they couldn’t cope.
I skedaddled out of there. I was not adding value to the situation ...
Two more big sleeps
... the front - a good spot for the camera!! We had a walk of about 3 km when we got off the bus - no bathroom or coffee spot before the hike - so on with it. We tramped along and finally reached our destination. Walking through a lovely forested area and down the driveway. We sat and enjoyed a beer and then decided on lunch and had a chat with the daughter. Good lunch and then off to view the museum. Extensive collection ...
Brujas....una de las ciudades mas lindas del mundo
... a la mierda y me mandé por ahí!!!! (de vez en cuando lo sacaba para ver de no alejarme mucho de la zona). Pasé por una iglesia con un casitillo rodeados de un lago, que no se podía creer!!! Carruajes o “sulkies” llevando gente….era como 500 años atrás!!!” Empecé a caminar por callecitas curvas con casas medievales de un piso, en las cuales siempre veías la punta de alguna de las iglesias de la ciudad. Not for the Belgian beer but the chocolate!
... but we did get to sample a couple of pralines that we had watched made from scratch. I think it had something to do with the fact that there were at least 3 groups of school students moving through at the same ime. There was lots of cool chcoclate paraphernalia and an instructive video. Much easier to buy it I say.
Then we climbed the Bell Friar Tower as a fitness credit before indulging in large quantities of Pommes Frites with mayonaise - mmmm mmm. Leanne and ...
