After only making it 80% of the way to Fira the other day I had visions of waking/running the cliff walk to Fira. I got up and at 7:30am started out. There was some cloud cover so it was perfect. I walked uphill and jogged the flat and downhill parts. It took 1.5 Hours to get to Fira. I saw two cruise ships already anchored and people were in Fira wandering around. I noticed that my new watch was an hour off and I cursed when I walked by Dino's ...

... its a 15 min walk but it's along the freeway that does not have a walkway, so we decided to catch the bus in. We were told a 3min ride, they were right, 3min later, the bus driver was telling us end of line get off this cost is 1.80euro pp. anyway nice to be in town, it was so pretty all the white buildings and so many people, after the serenity of Kamari. So we walked and walked trying to find somewhere to eat, to many choices, and I think we could ...

... Simos informs us is the best driver on the island. Thank God, I thought Ireland was hairy but this was definitely worse. Steep incline up from the dock with hair pin bends. Simos is telling us this stunning island is widely known throughout the world as one of the romantic places in the Mediterranean! (Stuart goes, I knew that where else would he take his wife). Thanks to that fateful day approximately 1509bc, when the island's volcano blew its top. Santorini is amongst the ...

... a while. It was a bit of a rough start on the first day as we waited almost an hour in the Pyrgos town square for the Fira bus to come. In the future we figured out when to trade up to a cab ride to save time.

Fira was full of cruise ship tourists and souvenir shops. We toured the prehistoric thira museum so we would have some background on the akrotiri ruins later in the week. After lunch in town we started the cliff ...

... if my grandma was alive, and there with me she would have enjoyed dancing to the sounds of Celia Cruz and songs like La Camisa Negra. It was really just peace of mind, and the comfortable feeling of having little taste of home. Anyways the islands we visited wow. My favorite was on day 2 we visited the island of Patmos, it was a Greek Island I have never heard about and one of the smaller islands. A local told us about a spot to watch the sunset. This spot was ...
