... small Pacific waves lapped at the shore of Hawke's Bay as gulls chattered and locals enjoyed the warm evening in the nice parkland along the water. We enjoyed a relaxing meal on the balcony as the sun set with our last bottle of Aussie wine (at least for now). The sunset was different from California, as the sun rises on the Pacific down under.

We have really enjoyed Napier and hate to leave, but tomorrow we are off to the volcanic area of Rotorua.

The people who we are staying with are a delightful family, Pip and Quentin and their four children, Eleanor (who I think is the eldest) then Alec who is 23, Mary who was poorly (steaming cold) and then Kate 15, who is very bubbly. ... buy Mark a box for his trouble and was late getting back and to bed. Mark on the other hand gained two cans of free petrol for the lawnmower and a box of beer! But he did have to face his kids sad faces in the window as he left to come and help us. Glad to see my bed after that day! 07/01/2014 Off to the same shed, day on full wool ewes. ... the shearers to set up and get going. This shed is one of four on this farm I think. The farmer, Dennis Bells, has a few farms with the help from his son-in-law, and they farm around 57,000 sheep!!! 57,000!!! They are the largest wool grower in Central Hawkes Bay. 12/12/2013 Thursday we got picked up from the caravan by Matu. We picked up Eric and Rob on the way, along with Russell.
