We finally wandered back out of the old town around 8:00 and headed back up to the restaurant we ate at the first night in Salzburg called Bausto. Because the waiter indicated it may rain tonight we ate inside. Cheryl had the Tyrloean dumplings (as selected by the waiter), I had the same pizza and salad and we each order a Trumer Pils beer, the award winning yummy beer.

Cheryl clocked in at 31.2 km per hour and I clocked in at 35.2 km per hour, which was the fastest of the tourists and only 0.6 km slower than our guide, who claimed she was always the “fastest” …. oh so close to beating her smugness!

Today we are back in Oberammergau with two choices of activities. One group will enjoy a quiet day exploring Oberammergau, and others will choose to go again to the Austrian border, high up in the mountains, to visit Hitler's Alpen retreat called the Eagle's Nest.
